[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Flanders wants to create more interactive synergies between knowledge institutions and companies. One way of doing this is through a Baekeland or innovation mandate. With these mandates, VLAIO supports academic research in an industrial environment, a win-win for doctoral students, companies and universities alike!

d-teach initially arose from the student-entrepreneurship of educational pedagogues at Ghent University. At d-teach, we find it important to collaborate with the academic world in order to offer our way of online learning in a well-founded and well-considered way. That is why d-teach also has its own in-house researcher: colleague Maaike (advisor professionalisation) does her PhD through a Baekeland mandate. A Baekeland mandate is a collaboration between a company (d-teach) and the academic world (UGent) with a view to scientific research with economic valorisation. VLAIO supports this research project. Maaike is doing research on the necessary skills and competences of teachers for synchronous online teaching/training.

d-teach is very happy with the opportunities we received through Vlaio and we are proud ambassadors! We are very proud to be chosen to be on the front page of the Baekeland mandate leaflet. If you would like to know more about this, click here!
